I put that as delicately as I could so that I don't offend too many people (particularly his fans)...but is this guy off the rails again? Discuss.
I find the match fixing feasible...but yet I struggle to believe it. He has won masses of prize money in the last 6 weeks, got his ranking up to a level where he can enter every event possible, and he stands a good chance of continuing that success for the remainder of the year and finishing in the top 30. Why would he spoil all of that now?
However, the way I see it is that because he stayed so long in Monte Carlo people reckoned he couldn't put up a good fight against Melzer having spent the whole time up to the match travelling and finding his bearings. Is this so naive?
What is going on? The odds rose dramatically for a reason...and he lost rather easily.
For taking a banned substance. I really do not know if he took it on purpose, or if it was accidental. So anyways, I'm not going to judge him either way, but it certainly does taint someone in the public eye.
this thread is going to get canned pretty soon anyway given the sensitive issue at hand, but suffice to say some of puerta's mates played the fool with the betting markets all over the world yesterday and are probably rolling in some decent cash as we speak as a result
Players tank matches in unimportant tournaments it happens and as I said in the scoring thread he could have saved the hassle and withdrawn from the tournament as he didn't need to play there as his ranking is fine at the moment.
“ On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".
Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
