Re: Unpopular Opinions

Greatness is determined not only by success, but also largely by the manner in which that success is achieved. In other words, STYLE is an important aspect.

This applies to all sports, not just tennis. (eg. Brazil 1970 are a GREAT football team, Italy 1982 are not GREAT.)

Actually, reading that back, I guess it won't be that unpopular with many people here...

Guy Forget had a better volley than Sampras and Becker.

Winning IS winning, no matter what the style of play. I prefer Federer's style to Rafa's but would rather have Rafa's H-H against Roger. I like Guy Foget and his game, but the fact that he May have had a better volley than Sampras of Becker in irrelevant, in that he didn't win many tournaments with it. I find it pathetic that some, mostly Federer fans, can't stop trashing Sampras and the great players of his era. Anyone who says 03-07 was not a weak era or Roger declined at 26, just can't handle the truth.

That's because those opinions are completely nonsensical, as they are based not on numbers or even observations but are simply manifestations of your own tardish agenda.

GM getting overrun by Nadaltards with hubris, just like in 2010. Disgusting.

IIRC, the roof went on a couple of games into the third set. As a 4-setter, that means it was more an outdoor grass match than an indoor one, doesn't it?

Court speed changes are massively overrated.

I'm on board with this. But he needs to ditch his entire family and get a better group of people around him.

Anyone who has ever seen Isner play on grass in person agrees with your Isner statement. Holy cow is he bad at moving his feet those little steps.

Novak will never complete his career Grand Slam. Every year the pressure will get worse and he will self-destruct at the most important points.

Ferrer will drop out of top 8 by the end of 2014.

The game bores me now

Lord knows I despise Fakervic, a truly detestable individual, but at least the guy has some balls. Murray is a pussy whipped man-child, an embarrassment to the human race and living proof that evolution isn't all that it is made out to be. If he had any dignity he would retire now rather than face further humiliation.
