Safin has the intangibles edge playing at home.

The obsession with rivalries continues. I love your work TF.

To answer the question Safin.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Let's see... Ferrero is badly out of form and he has very low confidence to boot and is not in the best condition. So I'm going to have to say JCF wins in two sets.

As much as I would like to see JC regain his form, it's hard to see him beat Marat right now when Marat seems to be playing well. So I voted for Marat, but I wouldn't mind seeing JC as a victor, either.

Safin's form is match to match, it doesn't carry over like most other players.

Obsessed I'm not obsessed. I like rivalries, and when great ones appear, and in this case, very infrequently, that makes me ever the more interested.

You're always mentioning them (rivalries), always looking for them whether these 2 players have a potential rivalry or not. That's just your perspective and that is why I asked.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

True. But he certainly is playing better than he was in IW and Miami. He's had much easier wins so far. In IW and Miami, he barely eked out a win in the first match before losing in the next round.

But I agree with you that the level of his performance varies from match to match. I think he will beat JC here, but it wouldn't totally surprise me, either, if he just goes blah.
