All Praise to Jean René Lisnard: what do you think?

Lisnard is playing very good tennis it appears. I wonder if he is getting the respect he deserves though. I dont want to get into detail, but im wondering how much competition and resentment there is on the tour? He said after beating Thomas Johanson "Jai des oreilles, je sais que cette wild-card en a dérangé quelques-un, mais je nai pas limpression d'avoir volé la place à qui que ce soi". which means, "I have ears, i know that my getting a wildcard bothered some people, but i dont have the impression of having stolen the place from anyone". this was from 20minutes, a free french daily paper.

No tell me this, who could complain about Lisnard? He has earned his place, he is an excellent player and apparently getting better. Im sure hes climbeb in the rankings.. any ideas about this?

Martijn otherwise known as Coo on this board is a huge Lisnard fan.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

For me Lisnard is a better player than López without his serve would ever be

Yes, because any old idiot player can make the third round of a slam.

Re: All Praise to Jean René Lisnard: what do you think?

Plenty of not highly ranked/regarded players have made the third round of grand slams - Reid, Mutis, Jeanpierre, Peya, Luczak, Coutelot, Savolt, Gimelstob, Moodie, Carraz, Pless, Gaudenzi, Vacek, and Knowle all have in the last couple of years.

And he has cool eyebrows. Maybe I shouldn't have said he was not highly regarded.

Lisnard is the most hideous person on Tour. He hasn't had bad results this year, but he's only slightly above the level of journeymen in general, and he might even have deserved the wild card as a player, but as a person it's horrible for the fans to give it to him.
