Albert Costa def. Fernando Verdasco 6-7 7-5 6-1

yeah old man at his best!!!

he has beaten first seeded davydenko, koubek and 2004 champion verdasco to reach the semis in valencia! he shows that he is still one of the best clay court players.

watch out for him in RG!

Good stuff Albert, though he has to take out Ferrer to make the final later today. I'd like to see Costa have some more success.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

the only spaniard i come close to disliking beat one of my top favourites. Great for Albert, but i really would have rathered Verdasco. this is shaping up to be a crappy tourney-i don't think a spaniard will end up winning now.

Good go Costa.

Go win the tournament now. You need it for the morale and, well, you deserve it.

Re: Albert Costa def. Fernando Verdasco 6-7 7-5 6-1

well the only non Spaniard left is Andreev and he lives in Valencia anyway. I think it's great for Albert. I'm sad for Nando cos he's also one of my faves...but it's also great to see Albert doing well again. He's a great claycourter...I'll never forget RG 2003 when he played all those 5 setters. He's a nice guy too...now he plays Ferrer, another of my faves..should be a good match, may the best man win!

Thats why he's the only spaniard that i'm close to disliking, i hated him for a day because he wouldn't give me his autograph, then i asked him again the day after for it and he was nice, but he's a sore loser. I can't help but hold that against him.

Re: Albert Costa def. Fernando Verdasco 6-7 7-5 6-1

RG 2002 was great for Costa as I love surprise winners and nobody expected him to do it when he was up there with the best players on clay in the late 90s and 2000, but I thought his chance was gone, fortunately it hadn't.

I hope he isn't too tired to face the froggie Ferrer.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Wonder how much we'll see of Albert at this year's RG, would be so fantastic to see and older player offer a challenge-I wanna see Costa-Federer on clay

I like Albert Costa who is born the same year as me. I would like him to win another title, hopefully it will be here.
