I have absolutely no sense of how he will do this year.
Last year's abyssmal clay results, and his loss to Ferrer in the first round of Rome 2003 would suggest that he is going to have trouble.
But Rome 2002 was only three years ago, and he was brilliant there. And he made the RG quarterfinals in 2002 and 2003 and won the US Clay Court Championships (yes I know in what regard some people hold that tournament
Movement tends to be an issue for Andre on clay, since there is more defensive "grinding" involved and it's harder for him to dictate play. But I think he moved very well in Miami this year.
I think it will be tough, but he is still capable of making a good run.
