Richard Fromberg... Remember him?

I don't know if many people will remember him, but this Aussie veteran made his comeback this week!

Canberra Challenger:

Chris Guccione & Richard Fromberg [WC] beat Paul Logtens & Lars Übel [1] 7-5 7-5

He is only playing doubles, but still

And to think that Paul Logtens is our highest-ranked doubles player..
Anyway, nice to see that Richie Fromberg picked up his racket again!

17 (yes, yes, yes!) Slams! And counting....

Wowwww Played mate! That's what I don't think I could do--achieve such results, then go play Challenger dubs... you gotta admire him for that

Wow! Beating Agassi on grass is awesome, especially considering Richard had his best results on clay I think.

Re: Richard Fromberg... Remember him?

Frommy is coaching Guccione, by the way, hence the pairing. I think it's as serious as Roger Rasheed's ATP doubles career.

Somebody is doing some serious shaming here! For some reason I confused Logtens with Wassen.

And as Miloslav Mecir's comeback in Bratislava last year.

I know. But still.. It's interesting when these players play a competitive match again. And by the way, Rasheed & Lleyton make a pretty decent team.

It's OK Paul is not bad in doubles actually. Saw him partnering Raemon against Kempes / Wessels in Scheveningen last year and it was an interesting, fun and good match. But for the rain.

That was a long match he played at Queen's club against Pete. Something like 8-6 or 10-8 in the fifth because they didn't play a tiebreaker in the 3rd. I think he LOST to lend though at the Aussie Open.

Re: Richard Fromberg... Remember him?

Richard Fromberg had a nice little career for sure. The composer had a nice serve and forehand, and could play well on basically any surface.
