ITF Launches IPIN Online Service
By Tennis Week

Tennis is a numbers game and players can use numbers to enter tournaments online. The ITF launched its new IPIN online service today. The service, which relies on a players International Player Identification Number, is designed to enable players to manage their tournament schedule online.
In addition to offering online tournament entry and withdrawal, the service also provides information about ITF Pro Circuits, including tournament calendars, fact sheets, rules and regulation and a code of conduct. The service enables the ITF to communicate quickly to participating players.

"Over 7,500 players have already taken the opportunity to obtain their IPIN," said Jackie Nesbitt, ITF Head of Professional Circuits. "This unexpectedly high figure, so early in the year, clearly demonstrates the enthusiasm and need for an online service."

The ITF expects players to use the online service to avoid the cost and inconvenience of entering tournaments by fax. If necessary, entry by fax will continue to be available for those few players without internet access. Annual registration for the complete online service is recommended for all players. The fee for 2005 has been set at $35 as part of the ITF's commitment to ensure these new services are accessible to players from all regions.

The IPIN online service is available in English, Spanish and French. For more information, please visit

I have an IPIN, haven't used it yet-I think it's best for players just starting out, or just clumsy guys
