Re: Do you find Roger arrogant?

maybe a little, but i don't think it's bad, maybe it's not even arrogance, just more self-confidence which just comes from being the best...i think he's a great #1 though...good role model...

Re: Do you find Roger arrogant?

"With confidence bordering on arrogance": it sums up well his attitude, and if we take the Williams standard, he's really far from being arrogant. When Venus says her comeback to number 1 is "a given", or Serena says people think she's still number 1, it's not arrogance anymore, it's just hilarious. I don't think Fed will ever reach that level, while he's doing things pretty amazing... should be tough to keep humble when you are dominating so much and, in addition, you're a cool guy. Dominating guys are often a bit arrogant, Lendl was arrogant as well, Connors too The two dominating players that were not too arrogant were Borg and Sampras I think, but they were much more introvert than Fed.

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."

Re: Do you find Roger arrogant?

Sampras wasn't arrogant that is one of the funniest things you have said mdhubert among many.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

how is roger arrogant? he seems so lovely in interviews, he always gives credit to his opponent, and he never underestimates him. He's very modest. Gotta love him.

Just ask Rafter, Muster ( an arrogant guy) or the fans of DC.

As for Roger being arrogant I don't think so, he could be worse than he is.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Another Federer's thread...not started by the Fed "freaks".

yes, he's so arrogant and full of himself that's why his peers voted him for the Sportsmanship award.

For a quote from one journalist you mentioned, I can quote you dozen others who said he's still the same down to earth guy he is all these while.

But of course people will always be doing selective reading and that's normal.

Yep, I know for the Rafter stuff, but a few things here and there within such a career, he could be tired at times, and when you reach 10+ slams you can get upset at some stupid journalist questions I guess... no big deal.
What happened with Muster ?

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."

Re: Do you find Roger arrogant?

No, I don't think he is arrogant at all. In interviews, he says it as it is, always giving his opponent fair dues. When he plays bad, he admits it and when he plays great he "fantastic" it. He is just sharing his emotions genuinely as they are with his fans, without any editing or exageration.

I think he is a nice decent boy.

Re: Do you find Roger arrogant?

He's supremely confident, but I think he's pretty careful to not let that turn into, or appear to be, arrogance
