Best shots in tennis 2013

Who's the owner of the best serve, FH, BH etc. currently on tour (so Fed's FH doesn't count for example as it's been nowhere near its best this year)?

My choices:

Serve: Isner (purely because it seems the toughest to return and all the pros choose his as the best serve on tour) Honourable mentions Federer, Raonic (been patchy at times this year but the only reason he is where he is)
FH: Nadal (No contest currently IMO.)
BH: Murray (Think his has been better than Djokovic's on the big occasions this year). Honourable mentions: Djokovic, Paire
Return of Serve: Murray (Again looking at Murray's numbers in, for example, the Wimbledon final, he was a much better returner.) Honourable mentions: Djokovic, Nishikori
Dropshot: Janowicz
Volley: Llodra
Smash: Nadal (Lots of good ones but think he misses the least important ones.)
Slice: Tomic Honourable mentions Mayer, Murray
Passing shots Nadal Honourable mentions Murray

In my analysis of the year so far, Fed's pretty much not in the conversation and as regards Novak's two best shots - the return of serve and the backhand - I think Murray has edged him this year and certainly in the big moments Novak's BH and return have wobbled more than Murray's.

How does Fed's serve deserve an honourable mention this year?

Because I really think that's about the only reason he's been winning matches even against the journeymen. His serve is tough to read and he can often get cheap service games. His ground game hasn't been doing much for him. Really has been Serverer this year...

Clearly you haven't watched any of his matches. Fed has been serving with a bad back for most of the year, it hasn't been clutch or great in any way In fact his lack of serve is probably the biggest reason for his drastic drop in results this year.

Re: Best shots in tennis 2013

Roger Federer 2013.

old
Decline
back injury
With no confidence
increase easy mistake
Twins

Nadal "Sampras, Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve". arrogance.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now.

fake time-out. cheat. gamesmanship. too noisy annoying always. excuse. boycotts threatened. always dissatisfaction cry complaints. dissatisfaction to schedule. selfish two-year ranking. bump to player. ugly protest. always exaggerated appeal of self condition. etc. overrated by fanatic arrogant blind fan

His bad back has been an issue in the 2 clay court tournaments post-Wimbledon and IW. Don't think back seemed real issue in the other tournaments he played. Anyway, it's definitely the only shot I think we're he's still near the best in the game/able to bring his best.

Disagree. His serve has been very unremarkable since Cincy last year, just those tournaments you mentioned more so
