Throw in a close to defeat Dimitrov and a very respectable 4 set defeat to Mayer and he has shown that he can compete with top 100 players.

This ^, just shows ignorance when someone states a clearly incorrect fact just because they don't know crap about a player. If you can beat 7 top 100 players, I think its pretty safe to say you have the talent to be top 100. You also forgot Davis cup, a close 5 set loss to Tursanov (WR 67) and a win against world number 80 Donskoy, 6 - 4 6 - 4 6 - 1.

He's only beaten 6 top 100 players, not 7 and the wins against Harrison, Pella and Nieminen were on grass which is a very specialised surface. Evens has some talent but he has a lot to prove before he can be talked about as a solid top 100 player. He's 23 and hasn't yet shown he has the commitment needed to reach the top 100.

Well Evans isn't a grass court specialist either, he knows how to play on grass but he is much more comfortable on hard courts, especially ones with a bit of pace. But yes no one is claiming that he is a solid top 100 player, merely that the potential is there if he is willing to fully commit to the sport.

what surprises me is that on his ATP profile it's said clay his is favourite surface

Says the same on his ITF profile but claim is either woefully out of date (most of the profile information is given when players are about 16 and then don't get changed) or just total nonsense. He played a couple of clay court futures in May but before that he hadn't played on the dirt for 2 years.

I'm not "blaming" anything just pointing out the bulk of his points come from very weak draws.

Point it out all you like, it's completely irrelevant to what I said.

You're right is Most definitely does not. Since this thread is about the 2 players and you made a point about pospisil I merely wanted to draw some attention to evans and give him his fair due.
