Question Info about Cincinnati, please

Just got tickets for the tournament but have never been to Cincinnati. Any recommendations for good places to stay ... preferably close to the Tennis Center? Thanks!

I've been to the tournament twice, but was lucky enough to stay with friends. The tournament is miles from Cincinatti itself. I'd go through the website for the Masters for recommendations for places to stay. Sorry I can't be more help - but it is a wonderful tournament with great courts and facilities.

I think for me the most talented of all times was (Marcelo) Rios. Marat Safin, 2004

Marcelo has an enormous talent. Gaudio, RG champion 2004

Re: Info about Cincinnati, please

My friend and I go every year, so I have plenty of suggestions for making the most of it.

Are you planning to rent a car? Even if your hotel is near the tournament grounds, you'll still probably need one. Since it's so far out of town, everything is really spread out. Also, cab fare from the airport is over $60. Before tip.

The Kings Island Resort is one of the cheaper places that's very near to the tournament grounds. They have a shuttle that runs pretty frequently. Plus, they have a pool. (A big plus, because it's damn hot there in August.)

If you want to save a whole lot of money and don't mind driving an extra five minutes (no shuttle), check out the Crossland Blue Ash. It's an extended stay hotel, not quite as nice, but if you're going for the whole tournament, it's definitely worthwhile. Most of the rooms even have a little kitchenette.

Most importantly, DO NOT book your hotel through the TMS Cincinnati website. The prices there are ridiculous compared to what you can find for the same hotels at Orbitz.

Feel free to PM me if you want any other tips.
