Guy Forget confessed to the French Press that he was furious with Santoro's and Escude's lethargic attitude during their doubles match against Safin and Kafelnikov in Paris...the French coach had to scream at his guys after they fell one break behind in the fourth set of the match while trailing 1 set to 2...Apparently his stern advice energized the duo, who started playing incredible tennis to bring the match back to their hands... Forget also felt that Escude was holding his best tennis for the final stages of the match, as Nicolas was having back problems and did not want to tire out too quickly into the match...

Forget has also hinted that he might play Santoro in the first singles rubber, as he was not totally satisfied with Paul Henri Mathieu's performance against Safin, also because Paul has been hampered by a cold and fever...The Russian coach has added to the suspense on who gets to play the first match, by saying that he might launch Michail Youzhny to replace a tired Kafelnikov...

That's not the first match, that's the last one.

Sundays, it's always #1 vs #1 first and then #2 vs #2 who have the responsibility to close the tie if it's not already done.

in all fairness, Santoro is more accustomed to playing doubles with Llodra so it would have taken some time for his partnership with Escude to click. also this is just not Escude's best surface.

it would be terrific if Youzhny got to play but i read in another thread that he is also injured.

my TV Guide advertised tennis but i haven't seen any so far. grrrrr...

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)
