Most beautiful/ugliest serve you've ever seen ?

Taking into account only aesthetic (efficiciency generally comes with it)...
I would rank the following:
1-Philipoussis: magnificent, fluid, natural
2-Rafter: awesome pace
3-Sampras: a missile, pure
4-Becker: a combination of force and uniqueness
5-McEnroe: so unique

In the ugly category (more difficult at pro level, easy at amateur !):
Schalken
Ivanisevic
Wessels
Moya

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."

You must be bored.

The most beautiful serve is Karsten Braasch, the rest are just artisitic impostors in comparison.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Considering you only follow superstars I am not surprised you haven't seen it, cause if you did then you wouldn't forget it.

It's poetry in motion.

From what i've seen-prettiest is definetly Melzer
ugliest is Mirnyi, and i have a thing against how high Hrbaty tosses the ball, but it's not exactly ugly.

JUAN CARLOS FERRERO

Juan Monaco, Tommy Robredo, Fernando Gonzalez, Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer, Guillermo Garcia Lopez, Juan Ignatio Chela, Fernando Verdasco, Carlos Moya, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Lucas Arnold Ker, Nicolas Lapentti

Hyped up French player though not to the Gasquet level.

first phase of Mirnyi's is weird, but then it's magnificent, sorry...

I might not remember correctly, but wasn't Braasch thwarted like a late Gothic madonna when serving?

And there is nothing wrong with following superstars. I am guilty of the same sin , though not exclusively.

Re: Most beautiful/ugliest serve you've ever seen ?

i saw Cyril Saulnier serve and he has a real powder puff of a serve.

I personally find Zabaletta's serve awkward, something about the toss or his body position, it is not attractive.

You remember incorrectly Braasch is what serving is about.

Off topic, do you know Horst Skoff and Alex Antonitsch?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Not personally I remember Alex as a medium to good doubles player and Skoff as a talented underachiever, very "Austrian" in contrast to hard-working professional Thomas Muster. But I never had and still don't have an exaggerated sympathy for players of my own nationality.
