Mathieu def Hernych 6-4 4-6 7-6(6)

What a dramatic match. Quality started to dip in the second set but picked up late in the third.

Mathieu led 6-4 3-1 but choked as usual. Hernych then served for the match at 6-4 4-6 5-4 and 6-4 4-6 6-5 but got a little tight. He also had MP at 6-5 in the TB, but Mathieu saved it with aggressive play.

If he shokes again like that...during some games, and finnaly wins the match, I'm OK ! LOL

But I think he's starting to be tired by DC, the long travel to California and his 3 first matchs. It will be hard if he's not at 100%.

Wait and see !

Re: Mathieu def Hernych 6-4 4-6 7-6(6)

I enjoy Mathieu's game, but he was just too choketastic against Hernych and I think the extra reserves he would have had after a straight-sets victory are going to be sorely absent. Hewitt will most likely win easily, although I'd like to be wrong.

Hewitt will eat him.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
