I miss Top 5 in possible results.

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

I suppopse he is almost guaranteed to be top 50 unless he gets injured so why bother with the top 200 and not put top 5 ?

Even if Ljubo doesn`t win any single match until end of the year he will be in TOP 40. IMO he is almost lock for TOP10.

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

I guess it will be about where he is ranked now, maybe about four rankings spots higher, or maybe a bit lower. Hard to predict, but he should finish somewhere just outside/inside Top 10 normally.

Ljubicic sucks on grass, almost nothing but 1st/2nd round losses his whole career. During grass season, winning a few rounds at Wimbledon and any other preparation tournament, for example, he has the biggest potential to gain additional points.

But at the same time, Ljubicic did considerably well at the clay TMS last year, even reaching the semifinal once. I don't see so much more potential left on this surface and he did well, but he really has to step it up on grass.

@ the Top 100/200 choice

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

I'm with Neely...I think he'll be on the bubble. It'd be nice to see him in Shanghai. Someone different.

I love my girls.

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

IMO the biggest insurance for Ljubicic to finish inside Top 10 would be doing well at a few REALLY BIG tournaments: Grand Slams and TMS.

Lets take the example of Moya: Despite being injured at the beginning of 2004 and taking another long break (2 months) towards the end of the season before the Masters Cup which included missing two whole TMS, a complete Grand Slam and other tournaments, Carlos was ranked top 5 at the end of 2004.

And I remember very well people here in the forum asking "How the fuck is Carlos top 5, I hardly remember him playing anymore, I only know his careless losses... has this guy done anything of significance?"

To answer it, yes he enough good results. He won a few titles and made a few finals in "smaller" events, but the guarantee for him to finish top 5 at the end of the year was winning a TMS, raching a semifinal TMS, three quarterfinal TMS, Grand Slam 3th/4th round, Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Carlos had pathetic losses, but on the other side also lots of good enough results at the biggies that give you huge ranking points.

That's what Ljubicic has to prove in future.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

he'll be top 15, and very likely better if he stays healthy and keeps playing this well, both of which are easier said than done. hope he continues to do well

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

To break into the Top 10 and stay there, Ljubicic needs to do better at the Slams and the Masters events. Otherwise, he will remain in the 11-20 range.

I hope top 10! Maybe he would get there this week if he had a better draw (Federer in the 4. round)!

Re: Ljubicic's year end ranking?

are we talking about champions race yeah? if so, i'd say he needs to start producing in the GS if he wants to make top 10, good results in small tournaments won't do it seeing as only 5 count towards it. GS and TMS is where the big points lie
