Arthurs 1999 111 Service Games Held in a row

Maybe i am counting wrong but looking at his Wimbledon matches where he had the record it doesnt add up.

R128 Santopadre, Vincenzo (ITA ) 117 7-6(7) 6-7(5) 7-6(10) 7-6(4)
R64 Lapentti, Nicolas (ECU ) 28 7-5 7-6(7) 7-5
R32 Haas, Tommy (GER ) 16 7-6(6) 7-6(3) 7-6(2)
R16 Agassi, Andre (USA ) 4 7-6(5) 6-7(5) 1-6 4-6

He lost the week before 57 36.Meaning his streak had to start at Wimbledon and since Agassi beat him 16 in the R16 it also means it ended at Wimbledon.
Here is what we got 1st r=24 games
2nd r=18 at the most possibly 17or 16.
3rd r=18 games
4th r= 12 games
Total= 72
Obviously 72 is a lot but not 111. Ok this sucks now i have figured out that the other 41 games came from qualies but since i already took the time to write this ill post it anyways. I have actually been thinking about this for a few days and the thought of qualies never came to me until i was almost done with this post.

Let's not forget that Wimbledon is the only Slam smart enough to make qualifying best of 5 (I don't mind having main draw doubles matches best of 5, but the qualies should definitely be best of 3), so that would increase the number of service holds.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Re: Arthurs 1999 111 Service Games Held in a row

it's only fitting that another Old Fart just broke Arthurs' record

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)
