Scud loses as expected

Too bad, Mark.
Losing the first set was tough, but totally bombing out like that in the second set was pathetic!
Will he ever find his form?
Looking doubtful every minute....

Re: Scud loses as expected

Perhaps he should have gone through the qualifying to get some matches under his belt before playing the main draw.
But then who's to say he WOULD have actually made it through the qualies?
tsk, tsk, tsk....

His decline and current form reminds me of Jelena Dokic, minus the daddie beating dynamic.

Re: Scud loses as expected

Well, as ever with Philippoussis it's a case of live by the serve, die by the serve - he served a double on the opening point of the tiebreak that meant he went down 3-0, won six points in a row and then served another double at 6-5 with the set on his racket. Carraz had been playing quite well up to then, evidently (he had four breakpoints earlier in the set at 5-5), and he stayed secure on serve and didn't give the Scud a look-in.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

What will Alexis think?

He shouldn't have been given a wildcard. Qualifiers will do him some good.

i dont think alexis would care... she's already been through hell in australia with the hopman cup drama... she's engaged to him and supports him.

i definately agree he should never have gotten the WC. He knows he needs matches, i would be disappointed if he doesnt play a challenger soon. There's no shame in it, agassi did it, heaps of players do when they are struggling to find form.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES MARK! ... you need serious help...

Its like, I am surprised, but then when you really think about it...I guess its not that surprising that he has lost, once again...
