Very good and efficient use of serve-volley on some important moments too! Really well executed, would hope he does that more often!

Stan

Hewie Not only does he make it out of a tough first round, but didn't take 5 grueling sets that would leave him zapped for the next match.

Great performance from Hewitt. Everything was working today, good net play, good shot selection. FH was excellent, smart play.

I'm not so sure that Stan is so 'bad' on grass. IMHO, he was too passive, kinda flat... he made too many strange UE. He was so aggressive against Nole at the AO, same against Gasquet at RG ... that's the way he should be playing every match. nowadays, you just never know which Wawrinka will show up.

I'm really looking forward for a potential Fed/Hewitt QF match

Re: Wimbledon R1: Hewitt def. Wawrinka 6-4 7-5 6-3

Great stuff from Hewitt.

Wawrinka should have won the 2nd set (4-1 lead) but all in all Hewitt was clearly better and in great form. Stunning performance.

For Wawrinka it was a strange grass season,
after last yearss flop, he was at least in a final this year.

But of course it was very bad luck with the draw.

Hewitt could have upset nearly anybody today...
