Wimbledon R1: Lu def Ward 6-7(4) 6-4 7-6(11) 7-6(4)

oops totally misread the scoreline.

Very tough 3rd set breaker for Ward to drop. No all British match in round 2.

Ward didn't have any match points.

Lu should have won on the first match point for 6-4 in the 4th set. The linesman for this match is very horrible (or in favor for their player) and Ward kept on asking the crowd to support him by raising his arms.

Where did you get this from, OP?

Lu won in 4.

Ward had his chances in sets 3 and 4 but choked them away.

Murray may now be a Grand Slam champion like Roger, Rafa and Novak, but he'll still never get to find out how it feels to have mug countrymen bend over for him like an idol.

Good win for Benny Lu though.

Good to see this choking ball bashing mug go out. He got an undeserved 45 points last year when he drew a clay courter.

Murray will be happy with this. English crowd would've been supporting Ward had they met... awkward.

Not sure about that... I'm English and would cheer for both, but if push came to shove, I'd be rooting for Murray without question. The OBE Wimbledon quest can't be derailed for the sake of one upset in Ward's favour. I imagine most would feel the same. Lot of pathetic bitterness shown towards Murray in this country, but the Wimbledon crowd have always been supportive.

Back to the challengers Jimmy. Just like so many other pathetic British wild cards over the years, choking away all his opportunities. He has no real potential and I'd be surprised if he's top 250 for the Wild Card next year.
