Partly due to shoulder issues, partly due to the fact that he doesn't like having a fast serve with lower percentage, because he doesn't lie to play such a game with shorter points, he gets out of rhythm. Someone posted that "Nadal doesn't want to serve big because it doesn't fit with his pusher game" was somewhat accurate.

If Nadal starts serving faster, he's in with a shot vs. anyone at USO 2013.

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

I don't think he needs to make changes to his serve. It could be risky. I like his well placed first serves which carry plenty of spin and often give him a short ball to attack with his FH. If anything, he should make huge chances to his return of serve. For fuck's sake he should not stand 10 meters behind the baseline to return serve. Stand close to the baseline and hit the returns deeper. That enables him to get his forehand into play quicker on opponent's service games.

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

Nadal won't win another slam outside of clay. 1-2 RGs unfortunately is still there for him.

Educating MTF clowns one post at a time.
So many fanboys to troll, so little time.

Favourite tennis matches: 2011 US Open Final & 2012 Australian Open Final, starring Novak Djokovic & Rafael Nadal, showing us just how far science can take humanity.

The US Open Final was especially enjoyable, with 'Why are there white spots all over my body?' Djokovic and 'Why am I sweating boils?' Nadal embarked on a titanic battle, concluding with the inferior player, Nadal, entering a sort of delirious state of psychosis. This allowed him to, while showing very little fatigue, consume inhuman amounts of energy, before he literally ran his legs from underneath him. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

I think someone said that Nadal was a momentum player... either he won both (W and USO) or not at all.

Look, Nadal was on a high in 2010. That is not happening again I can assure you. He can win one or two more RG titles but that is it. Big serve or not. Just accept it Groove. I know you are a reasonable poster.

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

I think it's complicated having Murray and Djokovic there, also big hitters can get redhot and send him packing (Tsonga, Del Potro, etc)

To count him out would be foolish but it is true that he isn't the first favorite for the title.

Rafael "The Matador of Spin" Nadal
Roger “The Magician of Precision” Federer
Del Potro, Ferrer, Haas, Zeballos

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

He won´t win any other slam RG was won thanks to his confidence and clay-run this season and Nole´s choke, maybe he can win 2014 RG but that´s it no other slams for Rafa, at USO he can loose arly if some big hitter will have good day, they can hit through him, he is slower, also i wonder how his confidence will be, because no way he is going deep in Canada or Cinci and we all know Rafa is player who needs confidence to take his game to next level

Honestly he is not going anywhere. Federer's Slam count is never out of danger as long as he doesn't completely retire from the sport. He will be in the slam hunt for four or five more years. Only the pattern of his performance changes going forward. He plays great in two slams and loses like this at a slam. I think it will be like that for the rest of his career. But every time he turns up fit for a slam in the next three or four seasons, he wins 1 out of 2 slams. No drastic drop in his movement, he runs like a 20 year old even when he is 30 and that at the cost of losing some Slams cheaply like Wimbledon 2012 and 2013. I think that's how he goes forward.

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

This thread reminds me the time when Simon Reed continued insisting that Murray will a Grand Slam (at the US Open) despite Federer winning both French and Wimbledon in the same year. If your not making realistic statements, your bound to get your rationale backfired with maximum interest from other people.

THE GOLDEN ERA OF TENNIS
Novak "The Serbinator" Djokovic Andy "The Pride and Joy of Britain" Murray Roger "Swiss Maestro" Federer Rafael "Spain's Raging Bull" Nadal

He's bound to lose in some finals again. Maybe another 3 in a row. Who knows?

Seems like winning a slam is as easy as fully prepared Serena Williams steamrolled her competition from 1st round to 4th round.

Re: Prediction: Nadal will win US Open 2013

I don't like this kind of predictions. As I said before - Rafa's aim for this season is reached (my opinion). He dominated clay season. I try to stay on the ground - every kind of success on HC will be just bonus for me, but I don't expect that. There are other favourites for Canada, Cincy, USO, etc... Imo Rafa should just try to make some points (2000 - 3000) till the end of the season, because it would be brutally difficult for him to defend all his points from feb 2014 to june 2014.

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.
