should federer and nadal meet (no merge please)

and you were feds coach, how would you advise him to play?

(IIRC, correct me if I'm wrong) the last time they met, on Federers first service game he came in 2 or 3 times and won the first game 40-0 or 40-15 and didn't do it again the rest of the match.. so maybe coming in would be a good idea?... idk

i enjoy tennis a lot but never really played so i was wondering what your advice to him would be?

I think he should serve and volley on his first serve. Basically play very attacking tennis with lost of variation. Also pray for it to rain because indoors NAdal has zero chance.

Federer has no chance against Rafa. Let's be realistic. At his best, it took Roger 4 and 5 sets to beat Rafa. Rafa may not playing better today but Federer is playing much worse. It's going to be a straight set or 4 set at most for Rafa. And this comes from a Roger fan. He has not shown me enough this year to have hope

So you are gonna give up just like that? You don't even have a game plan? If that's your attitude towards life then you won't get far.

The thought of Nadal destroying Federer at Wimbledon is so sweet.

Wrong. If he's hitting his first serves and Dull is moonballing short, Fed can beat him. He just needs to play consistent attacking tennis. It will certainly help if it's indoors.

Maybe Fed should try moonballing for a change.

Serve well, play freely, be aggressive, mix it up as much as possible ... try not to get into long rallies (by being aggressive)... even go for broke. Easier said then done, but still ...

Re: should federer and nadal meet (no merge please)

Well it usually comes down to the mental strength of Federer against Rafa. Rafa knows when and how to place the most amount of pressure for Federer to come up with a great shot so it all comes down to how Roger feels on court.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber

Re: should federer and nadal meet (no merge please)

Go for the serve, don't roll it in. Nadal doesn't return well enough on grass to hurt his 2nd serve, it's more important to get easy points. Try and hit the backhand down the line, especially the slice backhand down the line. Return to Nadal's backhand every time unless attempting an aggressive return.

No. That's not fair. You people know I am one of the biggest Roger fans here. The trouble is Rafa is a bad bad match up for Roger. He needs to serve out of his mind and be aggressive to have any shot. It's not about giving up. It's about being realistic. I hate Rafa and would love for Roger to wipe him out. But facts are facts. Roger took 4 sets to beat Rafa at Wimbledon final when he was at his peak, then a 5 setter. Then he lost in 5 sets in what could have been a straight set loss. He even saved match points in the 4th. Nobody is questioning Roger's heart. But father time catch up with everyone.
