Fedal matches are horrible now.

They will never match 08 quality again.

Hardly comparable. Nadal played fantastic in W 2007 final and W 2008 final. He's not at that level now.

The only recent Rafa's match that kinda resembled that level was last RG final, where he also played unbelievable, but this time it won't be a final, nor clay.

The big if is Federer's and Nadal's grass form and whether it will go outdoor or indoor.

As for now, this match seems a 50/50 with no clear favorite.

I said Nadal was not playing at that level but Roger is not even close to his level from those years. Let's get real. Roger is a step or two slower today and that could make all the difference against Rafa.

He needs to believe that he can win... I mean in Rome this year Nadal obviously played well in the final but Roger was just so loose, almost not even trying...

Here is how I see it. The draw has given Roger a golden chance to pretty much end Rafa's hope of catching his 17 slam total. If Rafa wins this Wimbledon, it is pretty much given he will win more than 17 with the momentum. Can you imagine the confidence he is going to get by winning almost every tournament he has entered?

He's never catching 17. He's not winning 5 more RG. Outside RG the likes of Djokovic and Murray will stop him.

What's expensive about it? All you really need is a racquet, sneakers, and a few balls. I know that sucky feeling though. I wish I could play every day. Can never play enough to be satisfied.

If Nole loses to Rafa on grass, that really changes things. If he wins Wimbledon, he does not need 5 RGs.

I don't think Nadal can beat Djokovic on grass. I mean, at the French Open, it was perfect conditions for Nadal (clay courts, very sunny) and Novak was playing bad during the first, the third and the start of the fourth set, but still very close to defeat Rafa.

Nole is the last line of defense against the complete destruction and shitification of tennis. If he loses this Wimbledon, nothing is stopping Rafa. Berdych loves Rafa. Murray can't sleep without thinking about Rafa. Federer can't avoid Rafa's backhand abuse.

You said it yourself. It's in his hands now. He can stop Nadal himself from ever catching his record. And he needs a win in slams badly against Nadal anyway. He doesn't even have to win the title. His goal for this event should be to beat Nadal, not to win the title. The draw is too tough anyway. If he beats Nadal he stopped Nadal from catching him and he gets a valuable slam win over him.

So, you still think it's hopeless and he should not even try?

I don't think Nadal is winning this anyway. He has a monster task ahead of him. If he beats Fed then he faces Murray. And then Djokovic. It just gets harder for him.
