WWW ? Wimbledon R1 : Gulbis - ERV

Draw from hell for the World No.8

ERV is a very good player and to make things worse, he's a grass court specialist. The Tsonga Nightmare is awaiting in the round 2 but ERV is a very dangerous opponent as well.

World No.8 in 4 but it's gonna be a tough one.

Gulbis hasn't made a third round since Roland Garros 2008 and now potentially faces Tsonga in the second round

GOATbis gonna GOAT. Disgusting draw to have him and Tsonga face in R2 though. Tennis losing again after RG put him next to Monfils and Berdych.

"GOATbis" will keep up his impressive streak of 18 Slam exits before 3rd round in a row.

At least, this time, his fans will have an easier excuse why he lost.

Ernest in 3 to set up a real #6 vs real #8 showdown in round 2 (really fair draw here )

MTF games titles:

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

Monfils and Tsonga are pathetic draws for a slam R2 though.

Monfils is a top 15 on clay, and GOATbis has been playing top 15 tennis this year. Now he has to face Tsonga in R2 while weaponless scrubs stink up other sections.

No real justice sadly.

The Wimbledon draw is a joke. Probably intentional too - let the talented shotmakers kill each other so the "Big 4" can sleepwalk their way to the QF.

50-50 match. Gulbis is a better player, but ERV is an energizer, you can never count him out.

If Gulbis plays like he did in Halle then he will definitely struggle and probably lose. Hopefully his performances were awful just because he was sick (according to him). I would really like to see him against Tsonga. But this match will probably be a lot closer than the current odds suggest.

Re: WWW ? Wimbledon R1 : Gulbis - ERV

As usually Gulbis is overrated.. Just looked at the polls - 16-3 for Gulbis, what a shame for a close match.
If ERV doesn't defeat Gulbis, Tsonga will have fun playing against him..

Re: WWW ? Wimbledon R1 : Gulbis - ERV

I hope Gulbis takes this, because i really want him to see vs TSonga- it could be similar match to last year shootout vs Berdych, but first ERV - who can frustrate Gulbis with his game he is pretty decent on grass and can get him back many balls so we will see how it goes if Gulbis is in form it doesn´t matter how good will ERV play, because Gulbis will blow him off the court and hit million aces and unreturnables, but in Halle he was really bad
