Re: Can We still expect a good performance by Andy Murray at Wimbledon this year ?
One thing is player's form but another is pressure that lies on his shoulders - expectations, aby sort of streaks etc, that may actually make it more difficult for that player. So it's necessary to look, what is the actual situation.
1. Most pressure is on Murray's shoulders. Already last year many have seen him as a favourite and despite reaching the final, his loss against Roger was really hard for him. At Olympics he proved his grass qualities and he won US Open (whatever the conditions were - GS means a lot). Olympics and USO caused imo, that people started to exaggerate his chances to win Wimby. This season is so far not very succesful for him, his clay performance is just disaster and also because he "tanked" RG, the expectations are really big.
2. I'd put Federer in the second place. He proved his qualities there 7 times and only fool would question his grass achievements. But so far his season is just terrible and there is no better place to prove he is still competitive. He can't afford to fail.
3. Djokovic. Unlike the upper 2, his season isn't disastrous. He won GS, defeated Nadal in MC, relatively comfortable at no.1 in rankings, but there aren't many reasons to celebrate. He failed in IW and Miami, his clay season wasn't brilliant (apart from MC) and mainly - he failed at RG. He has to defend a lot of points in the second half of the season, so I guess he'd need good tournament.
4. Nadal. His comeback was fantastic, 9 finals, 7 titles, 8th RG, defended all last season points, etc. From my point of view he accomplished his "mission" and everything he wins from now on is just bonus.
