Nadal is the firm favorite vs Djokovic at Wimbledon. And as you saw at Roland Garros, when Nadal goes into aggression mode there is nothing Djokovic can do (Nadal 22 winners in the 5th set). Nadal will be in aggression mode full-time at Wimbledon. Also, Nadal has a huge mental edge over Djokovic. Nadal has won 4 of their last 5 meetings and the most recent match was the most gut-wrenching loss of Djokovic's career - his deceased childhood coach recently had requested that he bring her the Roland Garros trophy, plus he again failed to win the Career Grand Slam (and this time it was despite winning at Monte Carlo which he claimed was the perfect preparation for taking Roland Garros).
Nice sig, man...

You forgot this...

Rafael "Spartan" Nadal, the only man in the history of tennis to have been dominated by his rival 7 consecutive times across all surface. No one ever comes close to such embarassing feat.

Re: Wimbledon Main Draw Discussions

Djokovic is probably my favourite objectively

I would say Murray then Nadal. Federer hasn't a chance.

On Murray

Murray wins Wimbledon 2016 after Djokovic is blue shelled by Querrey. Thanks Querrey!

Exactly. Nadal is way past his grass peak which was in 2007/2008 and that is why Djokovic will obliterate the Spaniard if he reaches the final. Murray and even Federer(way past his grass peak but still the best grass court player of the OE) would be a bigger threat to the Serb in the final.

That's twice then that Nadal considered withdrawing and then made the final - Wimby 2011 and AO 2012.

Some of his ailments are far overblown.

Djokovic and his draws are truly sickening.

If it's purely physical and you're watching someone playing six-hour matches over and over and showing no signs of being tired, you'd look at that. - Andrew Barron Murray OBE

Re: Wimbledon Main Draw Discussions

Just in case they delete my thread:

Nadal 2-4 in Wimbledon finals, like Connors?
If Nadal reaches the Wimbledon final and loses it to Djokovic, the Spaniard will have a similar record in Wimbledon finals to Jimmy Connors. Two wins and four losses. Interesting. History has a funny way to repeat itself.

Connors won his 1st, though.

Talking about Connors, Federer can match his Wimbledon record 11 straight QFs or better (1972-82). That is, record for the ATP. Navratilova's absurd 20 in a row (1975-94) looks hard to match....

If there's anyone who's able to shrug all the painful losses, it's Novak. Did you see how he managed to transform himself from 2010 to a beast in 2011 just after he was denied a slam at the USO? He's no Rafa, who was the one who lost it mentally when someone suddenly started beating him in close matches back to back. Ask him, he admitted himself.

Re: Wimbledon Main Draw Discussions

I think it's Murray's year.

I actually kind of feel for Tsonga. He's clearly one of the better players on this surface, and may even have a chance of upsetting a number of the guys above him. But he just can't catch a break on the stuff - always running into Murray prematurely. Honestly, it's such a bummer, because I think he would otherwise have shake-up potential here.
