Could Djokovic go down as the greatest hard court tennis player of all time?

Currently, Roger Federer has the most Hard Court slams with 9 (5 USO and 4 AO). Djokovic has 5 (1 USO and 4 A0).
With 2 opportunities a year he has a good chance of catching him (i could easily picture him getting 6 AO and 3 USO). Do you guys think that this will happen? If he surpasses roger, will it be safe to call him the greatest hard-courter of all time?

He could, but I doubt it. He is not even close. No matter what he'll retire as one of tennis legends and I'm happy with that.

Losing a slam final to Murray on hardcourt doesn't do his case any good. That's a stain that isn't going anywhere

RAFAEL NADAL

'Rafael Nadal is the best ever' - John McEnroe

1 AO - 9 RG - 2 W - 2 USO

No. He is 1-3 in USO finals, it's not looking stellar there. Federer had 4 USOs when he was 26. Djokovic will dominate the AO but not the USO.

Sampras had 4 USOs when he was 25.

Federer and Sampras only won one USO after 26.

It's hard to win multiple USOs after 26.

Is it my impression or there has been a tremendous increase in stupid threads in the last weeks?

Maybe. When all is said and done the 4 best HC players will be Federer, Sampras, Agassi, and him.

He will likely be the favorite heading into the next USO and AO. Also, he just only turned 26 and is ready to win as many slams as he can.

True that, even if he wins 10 HC slams, it will be hard to make a case for him being HC GOAT as long as you remember that windy night in New York

yeah I guess, same can be applied to Rafa who will never be The Clay King because of that loss to Soderling at RG in 3 sets .

True. Then again Djokovic seems to have come onto the scene late in the first place though. Both Fed and Sampras peaked early compared to him.

To have played and competed well against Roger and Rafa in itself is big. Novak will figure in most people's list of best players ever . He may never reach the status of being the "greatest" on any surface> He is sure to end up with the Player with the most Titles at the AO. He will get his 5th AO title in 2014 /15.

I do not see Novak winning Majors beyond 2015 . He still has 10 more Majors till USO 2015 where he can make add to his current tally of 6 .
