That's Domination
And yet he's still inferior to all of them. Wake me up when Ferrer beats one of the top 3 (Nadal not Murray btw) at a Slam again, until then drop the hype. If Ferrer is indeed as good as del Potro, he can prove it by winning on Sunday. JMDP stopped Federer from being the first man to win the same Slam 6 times in a row and hold all 4 Slams at once, Ferrer can become the one to stop Nadal to be the first man to win a Slam 9 years in a row and win 8 of the same Slam. Either deliver or the GTFO.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

I guess you'll never learn! Ferrer beats Tsonga whom you think is better than Ferrer, and yet you still think that Tsonga is inferior. And why do you expect Ferrer to beat Nadal tomorrow, when neither Djokovic nor Federer has achieved such a feat at RG? But I do tell you that the match-up would be really close, as it always has been between Rafa and Ferrer. And believe me Del Potro wouldn't have done it either.

Tennis isn't about winning tournaments. It's about looking good vs the top 3, and then tamely folding in the next match.

Well done Tsonga!

Re: Roland Garros SF: Ferrer def. Tsonga 6-1 7-6(3) 6-2

I am still puzzled, why people thought Tsonga had a chance here.

It's clay and Ferrer is a bad matchup. Tsonga definately improved, but this is not his beloved grass, where he would be the clear favorite against Ferrer.

Still, Jo is a huge threat, if he gets his head together finally, he could be co-favorite for Wimby together with A. Murray.

Like: Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, Ferrer, Del Potro, Raonic, Haas, Davydenko, Janowicz, Nalbandian, Monfils, Rosol

Dislike: Berdshit, Mugrin Cilic, Simug,

The most obvious result in grand slam history. Happy for Ferrer!

Re: Roland Garros SF: Ferrer def. Tsonga 6-1 7-6(3) 6-2

Ferrer has taken advantage of his top 4 seeding and his consistency plus Tsonga's nerves in front of expectant crowd were important. Can he put up a fight on Sunday, I'm not convinced. He pushed Nadal for a set in Rome last year only to drop the soap to him at RG. He did even better in Rome this time and executed some clever tactics only to choke on every bp he had. Can't see it being even that close.

So proud of David. He hasn't had to get out of 2nd gear in the whole tournament but hopefully he can elevate his game and push Nadal in the final.

Re: Roland Garros SF: Ferrer def. Tsonga 6-1 7-6(3) 6-2

What a disappointment. I genuinely thought that Tsonga was made of a different material. How could he make such a no-show in a slam SF? I could have understood if the win over Fed had been a massive achievement that had taken all his mental strength, b obviously it was not. How could he let such a routine win get to him? So obviously it was only the pressure of RG SF. So the same scenario repeats again, after Pioline and Grosjean, with Ferrer replacing Corretja... I really wonder what it takes for a French player to reach the final here? I know the media/crowd put a lot of pressure, but is it any different elsewhere?

As for those saying this was NID from the start : Tsonga has always been a Slam player, he has a tremendous record there (more that 75% wins). And last year he was 1 point from taking down Djokovic. And his performance en route to the final has been just as impressive as David's. So no, it was not NID. But congratulations to Ferrer, and I really hope he can make the final competitive against a tired Nadal. Tsonga would have most likely been crushed so...
