El Chucho and Liv Tyler - does anyone else see the resemblance?

Yes, I am bored, but the similarity struck me while I was rewatching that Acasuso v Federer match from the first round of the 2003 US Open. Consider:

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Actually, those are rubbish examples, but I know there is a definite facial resemblance in the eyes and mouth. The trouble is that no-one has ever cast Acasuso as an ethereal Elven queen in a big-budget movie; equally, no-one has ever given Liv Tyler stubble, scraggly hair, a single-handed backhand and the ability to make semifinals in small clay court events.

Don't laugh a little, laugh a lot! I've seen worse examples of tennis lookalikes in Wertheim's Mailbag, much worse. When someone tries to compare Albert Costa to Jason Biggs (he of American Pie fame), everything afterwards seems realistic.

The lips maybe...but I think Acasuso looks more like Ben Affleck in that pic.

What about these?

Eric McCormack + Corretja

Kiefer + I dunno who

Jenson Button + Nalby

Luis Horna and Tomas Behrend.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I think you could also quite easily include British comedian Alistair McGowan in that category, too.

Jim Thomas - Max Mirnyi - Jordan Kerr - Rohan Bopanna - Andy Roddick - Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi - Ilia Bozoljac - Chris Haggard - Jan-Michael Gambill - Donald Young - Nathan Healey - Lleyton Hewitt - Jamie Murray - Olivier Rochus - James Blake - Vince Spadea - Tim Henman - John Isner - Travis Parrott - Paul Goldstein - Tim Henman - Wes Moodie - Arnaud Clement - Michael Russell - Jeff Coetzee
