Mark Miles/the ATP scheduled Hewitts hearing for next week.

Are these guys complete asses or what?

Does this not reek of gamesmanship? They are trying to screw around with Lleyton's head during the Masters Cup tournament.

First of all, to all of you who hate LLeyton get ready for Hewitt's reign as #1 for the next few years. The ATP has pretty much guaranteed that Lleyton will now enter every event with a with all the motivation in the world to mow down the competition (like he was not intense enough?)

Second, What are they trying to prove? Lleyton has the support of many players on the tour which is why it took so long to get tennis people to appear on the appeals panel. Is this a message they're trying to send to the players who have gripes with the ATP? Messing with a player's mind during a tourney is not going to endear them to any of the players.

Third, Lleyton's lawyers are the same ones representing the Indianapolis tournament that is suing the ATP. This pretty much tells me that the ATP is not thinking. If you have the #1 player in the world and tournament organizers/sponsors starting to align themselves with each other, the ATP which is already hemorraging money is setting itself up for further damage.

Finally, this is unnecessary. Both parties could have found a way to settle this issue. ie when Mark Miles offered to lower the fine to $20,000, Lleyton and his people should have taken this as a step toward negotiating a settlement. However the ATP is clearly in the wrong for having scheduled the hearing for next week and for anouncing this the day before his final match in Paris.

Lleyton was my #2 fave behind Marat but now he and Marat are co-favorites of mine. I hope Lleyton continues to tie up the ATP into knots. I absolutely hate these people.

ATP on the sh*t list....It's their fault Lleyton has decided not to play my home town tournament next year...replaced by Sampragassi and Rodprick. You can bet for the first time in two years I won't be going...the ticket prices were outrageous anyway.

Go Lleyton!!

I thought he said he was paring down his schedule because he didn't have anything left to prove. He's a Grand Slam champion twice over with plenty more opportunities and he's been the #1 player in the world for almost a year.

What else DOES he have to prove?

Lleyton has blocked out crap like this before. Hopefully he will just be able to block it out and win the tournament

They are complete asses. They just want a showman like Roddick or Agassi to be number one. Lleyton is a good sport, intense guy and is respectful to his opponents and has a great girlfriend who would not care for him if he were the jerk he is made out to be. I will admit that at first I could not stand this guy with all of his c'mon's but now Lleyton only does it on really big points usually after some assholes in the crowd have gotten him fired up. I really hope he stays on top of tennis just to upset the ATP! GO LLEYTON!!!!

Lleyton doesn't have anything to prove. What I meant is that he will now be even more determined to win the tournaments he does enter. We all know that Lleyton "gets up" for matches when he knows he can stick it to someone be it the crowd, his opponent or whomever he feels has slighted him. He consistently reaches the semis or better in high pressure situations. And I do believe that Lleyton is slightly perverse enough to win enough points next year at slams and a few other events to be #1 next year in spite of the ATP.

Arwen and Aragorn
Eowyn and Faramir
Eomer

Marat, Lleyton, Marcelo, Yevgeni, Serena, Anna k., Venus, Martina H. So they say you're arrogant, tell em to kiss your ***.

So they say you can't control your temper, so what?

So they say you're rude, keep laughing as you win titles

To all the bad boys and bad girls keep on keeping on and screw everyone else.

...but I was actually talking about Shanghai. I'm disappointed that Marat beat Lleyton, but congratulations to him on getting his usual form back

REgardless of the timing of the hearing, I don't think he'll win the Masters again.

But shitty timing none the less.

That is what I thought when I first heard this.

They should either have done it the week after the Masters, or right after the Open.

They had problems with some of the "judges" for it pulling out though - I heard. can anyone confirm that?

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.
