Longest Slam droughts

So Safin won his 2nd Slam almost 4 1/2 years after the first. What are the longest Slam droughts you can think of? Is this the longest?

Re: Longest Slam droughts

It's one of the longest droughts, for sure. A two or three-year drought isn't so uncommon, but four or more is.

Some others:

Arthur Ashe: 5 1/2 years AO70- Wimb75

Andre Agassi: 4 1/2 years AO95-RG99

Last of the moon-and-volley specialists.

Almost true, but Becker only made the Wimbledon finals in '91- he didn't win it though.

It was 1991 Australian Open to 1996 Australian Open. Six years.

Partially open era:

Ken Rosewall: First AO 1953, last AO 1972, 19 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."
