Duarte was wrong on that surface speed, but what about other valid arguments he mentioned ?
People call Federer's Roland Garros a fluke, then Nadal's USO and AO are flukes as well.

Roger Federer - Martin Klizan - Lukas Lacko - Milos Raonic - Fernando Verdasco

Dustin Brown - Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos - Stanislas Wawrinka - Dominic Thiem

People call Fed's RG a fluke because his master Nadal was injured that year. Federer never was as dominant at USO+AO and Nadal isn't owned by Federer. Plus, Nadal even beat him at the AO and Djokovic (his worst match up) at the USO. Ridiculous comparison.

RAFAEL NADAL

'Rafael Nadal is the best ever' - John McEnroe

1 AO - 9 RG - 2 W - 2 USO

Yeah we can say the same for Nadal Us Open and AO is not it ? Nadal beat Fed at 28 or 29 but Rosol #100 beat prime Nadal in 2rd at Wimbledon and Soderling in 4rd at his beloved Roland Garros KING OF CLAY. What about Zeballos #78 who beat this KING . I can not recall Fed ever to lose in his prime at GS level to nobody.

It's two way road mate. Federer won RG in 2009 because Nadal wasn't able to beat Soderling. Who cares if he was injured or not ?
Did Rafafans cared Federer was injured in Indian Wells this year ?

Federer won 5 USO and 4 AO and surface slowing cost him another titles. (same argument as Nadal's injuries costing him GS titles)
They never met at USO and at AO only in Plexicushion era, and be honest, Nadal knows how to play Federer on high bouncing surfaces .. Still I think if they met at USO 2010 final, it would be bigger battle than from Djokovic. (hard to prove, same as if they both meet at RG 2009).

But let's stick to topic, and it is Madrid final between best claycourter of all time and Stan Wawrinka

Roger Federer - Martin Klizan - Lukas Lacko - Milos Raonic - Fernando Verdasco

Dustin Brown - Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos - Stanislas Wawrinka - Dominic Thiem
