Jesus. There is so much hate in this thread that it is beyond normal. You people forget that actually Dimitrov is the hero here today. All the fight between fans of Rafa, Roger and Novak is just stupid. Dimitrov played an amazing match yesterday, we can expect him to really become TOP 10 player soon after this kind of performence and this is really good for tennis. Yet for most people more important is the rest.
Spanish fans didn't behave in a good way yestarday, that's sure. Djokovi's behaviour after 2nd set was also very bad, that's sure. There was surely some acting as well in the 2nd set from Nole. This injury seems odd from the beggining, but let's not question it anymore.
Djokovic also behaved in a very nice way at the net hugging Dimitrov and saying nice words in press conference.
For Djokovic fans Monte Carlo was Mickey Carlo, useless tournament, as long as Djokovic didn't win it. Suddenly when he won it, it's reputation is much higher. Now Madrid is a shitty tournament, with shitty clay and fans. I don't remember you saying it when Djokovic won it in 2011. Really it's to much hipocrycy.
People, I really don't like Djokovic and Serbian players in general, but it's not a reason to insult them. There is also no reason to insult in this thread Roger or Rafa. Really.
Would be also nice if some idiots stoped calling Rafa "Dull". Does it give you so much satisfaction insulting him in this most pathetic way?
And on more time. I really can't wait to see next Dimitrov's matches. This guy is really great.

Great win for Dimitrov. No usual choking and folding under presure. He has really improved this year - new quality in his game: excellent defence and reliable back hand. Still it remains to be see what he will make of this win. I believe he will be in top 10 before the end of the year.

As for Giocovich - not so bad defeat. More time to rest for more important challenges (Rome and RG). Dire court (as usual) and terrible crowd (as usual) don't deserve to see world's best player anyway. He should skip this awful tournament in the future.

For some reason I omitted Nadal winning the USO in 2010.

What's interesting is that since 2009 when the Madrid masters changed to clay, the winner of Madrid also won Wimbledon that year.

2009 Madrid winner Federer won RG and Wimbledon
2010 Madrid winner Nadal won RG and Wimbledon and the USO
2011 Madrid winner Djokovic won Wimbledon and the USO
2012 Madrid winner Federer won Wimbledon

His behaviour is fine most of the time. Everyone's allowed the odd tantrum .

Well it's not like Djokovic is losing against players ranked where Dimitrov is on a regular basis and on top of that when's the last time Djoko lost the first match of a tournament. It would be way more weird and abnormal to be casual about this surprise win so ur comments are kinda lame.

It's nice to see a young up and comer live up to his promise and potential and considering he pushed Nadal to the limits a few weeks back its rather impressive for him to follow that up w.a win over Djokovic, the best player in the world and this season. I think it is a big deal and deserves some attention even if its just one measly match. Beating a player like Djoko is a feat in and of itself these days.

If I was his coach I would probably tell him what u said or say something similar in the hopes that he doesn't have a let down, which is what a lot of people are now predicting. So from Dimitrov's perspective ur approach is on point but from the perspective of us fans of the sport I think it's definitely worthy of all the talk and attention it's getting.

I am still reeling from this match. Such a great performance from Dimitrov. He is going to be tough for Djokovic to deal with after this. That backhand is going to cause problems and that flair is a factor for which you can't prepare for. I am still a bit shocked that the crowd were so quick to turn on the world number One. Felt like some kind of revolutionary spirit. Dramatic I know, but it was a dramatic match!

It wasn't about Madrid crowd, those were mostly Bulgarians who work in Spain, they dream was to watch their idol playing no.1, it comes true and they bought many tickets for R1 match.

For the future, i think Novak won't ever win this tournament again cause bad condition on the court and he won't give sh/t to give his max risking injury.

and thats why this tournament become the last chance for titleless clay players such as Fedmug

There was a sizable group of Bulgarians but it was still mostly Spanish people, I think.

Djokovic doesn't give a fuck for out of top10 players...he was losing to Nishikori, Querry, Tipsarevic and lot of more...Sooner they become top10 players, he will start analyze them better and easily destroy them. Just watch how looks like Djokovic- Tsonga match up now and mtf tards were claiming Djokovic won't ever win Tsonga again not so long time ago
