Nadal: Madrid red clay is ‘great'

Quote:
Rafael Nadal, who vehemently complained last year that Madrid’s blue clay courts were too slippery and caused too many bad bounces, says that the tournament has done a good job installing red clay courts this year.

“The courts this year fortunately are really good,” he told reporters in Madrid. “I think they are great. The only thing I can say is thank you to the tournament for the money that they have invested to have the highest quality courts in here. I think that obviously the court last year was not up to the level that we needed. It was not prepared to be a competitive court.

"In Madrid, we have the problem of the dry climate, so it's very difficult to have the clay that settles down properly, a clay that's the same as in other places. I think this year we have managed to have good clay here. It's great, and the courts are to the highest level. The courts cannot be better.”

Wow... Dull saying the courts are great... I expect them to be so slow one would need a rocket propulsor to hit a winner!

Proud supporter of El Tio , the greatest genius alive!

El Tio transforms Dull into a multiple GS champion! Daaaaamn!

El Tio has the keys to weather, court speed, draw making, umpires' decisions and perception of time between points, top players' fatherhood, and my libido!

This signature is in no way ironic. Please don't ever let El Tio think that, for my sake!

Re: Nadal: Madrid red clay is ‘great'

indoor is not true tennis. no?

.

Nadal "Sampras, Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve". arrogance.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now.

fake time-out. cheat. gamesmanship. too noisy annoying always. excuse. boycotts threatened. always dissatisfaction cry complaints. dissatisfaction to schedule. selfish two-year ranking. bump to player. ugly protest. always exaggerated appeal of self condition. etc. overrated by fanatic arrogant blind fan

The court is freaking slow on Manolo Santana Big hitters today can't hit a winner within 10 shots.
Hence Cillic,Williams,Na Li had problems, Goffin couldn't hit a winner out of a paper bag

Sir Murray Wimbledon Champion,US Champion and ,Olympic Gold.

Laura Robson Rank top 30

I thought that's what it looked like too. Just caught a few moments of the Serena match and it did look really slow.
