What's most shocking to me is not only did he win in straight sets, he actually won a TB .

Verdasco actually put in a performance that resembled that of a tennis player. Not exactly great by any means but not too bad. Forehand mostly worked pretty well, a decent number of winners and not too many unforced errors.

Expected, Goffin has been very poor lately.

True. Not the best season for him .

But Nando's also been piss-poor.

I'm not sure this qualifies as tennis.

Knew the mug would win after I bet against him. Typical.

one can always dream

I just like Verdasco's style so much that i'm happy with every win of his, while i don't really care about his losses. What one would call a classical tard

and btw, while we're all here thinking that he's in a huge slump and is done, and whatever else, the guy meanwhile is playing almost constantly in semies and finals in the doubles part, so he's up there and needs a string of good results to be back in the game.

It's often a matter of a bit of luck with draws and moment, so he might very well come back in the top 10 very soon.

At least i hope so

Re: Madrid R1 Verdasco def. Goffin 7-6 6-2

I had a feeling Verdasco would win in front of the home crowd. Then again, both have been terrible lately.

Andy Murray: 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalist. US Open Champ. Wimbledon champ. Never been prouder of him.

The Brian Baker Story. Proof that truth is stranger than fiction... until Hollywood buys the rights and proceeds to keep screwing the script up.

Verdasco only plays good in Madrid. Hope he can bring his A-Game against the talentless hulking servebot and the fat loser next.
