Complain about Nadal's numerous
matches & money,
but Fed and his faded opponents can
demand $100,000-2 million to play an exhibition.

LMAO Most Fed fans & their sycophant acquaintances
on mtf got away with trying to rile everyone
who didn't love Fed by saying they
wished injury on others here.
Yet, since 2010, if you did so much
as joke about the
Fed lovin' troll players, you'd get banned for 3 months.

Brennwald's grovelling apology to Federer can be found on Blick's website

Contact murray then. I'm sure third's time the charm. I'm also sure you'll get the same attendance with nadal or djokovic that you would get with Roger.

Very professional from Brennwald to whine about it to the press.

I love how Fed has still said basically nothing about this whole thing in the press. Keep digging, Brenn.

It's in German (written, it's not different from regular German).

He says that journalists asked him why he simply doesn't call Federer on the phone to settle their differences and Brennwald replied that it's not that simple because Federer just doesn't answer his phone. You can't talk to Federer directly, you have to go through his manager. From this came the entire hoopla about it in the press.

Brennwald now says that when the press asked him that question, he felt pressure to reply but he adds that it was a mistake to react the way he did.
In this interview, the journalist says that as an experienced manager, he should know how to react to the media by now (not falling for their tricks in other words).

Brennwald is grovelling quite a bit in this interview. Funny to read.

There's also a possibility that Federer will get appearance money despite playing without a contract. Brennwald says that from a business viewpoint, Federer should not get appearance money because there's no contract for it but from an emotional viewpoint, there is the possibility to negociate about it.

That's not just being partisan for your own guy (which is still stupid; I've haven't supported an American man in about a decade), it's saying that you're such a poor tennis fan that you consider the games of ALL those three not very enticing. Who but an extreme Fedtard would claim that none of those three has an interesting game? Basel will survive without Federer just like Barcelona would survive without Nadal. That poster was just trolling.
if you had to name one town in the world where you would think there is the biggest concentration of Fed tards, which one do you think it would be?

Of course any tournament in the world with Rafa, Murray and Del Potro will be attended, but also have in mind that the Basel crowd is spoiled and it's an yearly Roger benefice, so it will be attended but might not be packed, the media won't be overexcited, the sponsors as well.

The tournament will probably survive without Fed, but won't flourish, that's for sure.

If it wasn't any problem for this tournament if Roger would skip or not, it wouldn't be in the media at all.

Acapulco survives without Roger ever stepping there, but remember what happened in Columbia at the exhib - it looked like a bloody riot over there, so imagine the impact on a spoiled Basel crowd.

Basel would have easily became an uninteresting Stockholm kind of tournament if it wasn't for Roger and if Brenwald insists on his actual position, it will become like Geneva CH in a matter of 5 years.

Re: Brennwald:"Federer refused our offer"

Some statements from Roger:

Quote:
Q. Just going to Basel for one second, clarify what's the situation with your entry or not. And does Roger Brennwald really apologize to you like they said?

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I mean, I announced that I'm playing the tournament some weeks ago, months ago maybe. Because I always said I was going to play the tournament. That was, for me, the most important thing, is that I had an opportunity to play in front of my home city where I grew up, my home fans.
For me personally, it's a place I look back on with a lot great emotions as a ball boy, winning the title there eventually, and making my second finals there on tour.
So I've had a great time there always, and I don't want that to change just because of some business situation that couldn't get solved, you know.
So I wanted to diffuse the situation and announce that I'm going to play without getting paid and just enjoy myself over there.
So that, for me, is the most important thing above everything.

Q. Did he really apologize?

ROGER FEDERER: It doesn't matter. I don't discuss those things in the press like he does. For me, it's really important to keep these things outside of everything.
I did the utmost, and that's all I need to know. And nobody, the fans in particular and myself, we don't get hurt in the process.

A tournament lives from competition and the entry list for Basel looks good with Rafa, JMDP and Stan. I read that Brennwald is also in negotiation with Tomas Berdych.

It will be really special for the tournament to have Roger's main rival from the last years in the entry list.

People may think about Rafa what they want but it can't be ignored that he is one of the most successful players of all time and I'm sure that many people attending the tournament are looking forward to see him play.

Re: Brennwald:"Federer refused our offer"

Good to see Fed emerge as the victor, moral at least, in another stupid argument. His integrity has never been under question by those who think.

It would have been nice if he didn't play and give Paris a shot. He can't seriously be contemplating playing 3 B2B events but you have the whiners to thank for that.

Re: Brennwald:"Federer refused our offer"

Roger has signed a 1 year contract with Basel.
Part of the deal is that Dimitrov and Del Potro are going to play the tournament.
No more further details will be given but Brennwald said that it was always Roger's priority to play in Basel.
