5 kilos at least apparently. Tio Toni said today in a Spanish radio station his nephew had to take better care of his diet after IW's break.

He didn't choke the second set in Monte Carlo, Novak played a great game 5-6 down, that's all. Breaks happen a lot when you have the two best return game players ever playing each other on clay, you know? And he just didn't play a great match and Djokovic is a fantastic player. Losing doesn't equal mental scarring.

was owning until the rain delay? Oh, by owning you mean 2-1 down in sets? The rain was the only reason he grabbed that set. Grandfather problem...yeah, Rosol just lost his father and is playing his first ever final.

Milos&Marat, allow me to help you. Statistics mean very little on the whole. More so when they don't actually come attached to the reality of the situation.

Milos reached R4 of the Aussie Open in 2011 and has not kicked on at all. He is of no threat to any of the major players be it at a Masters event or a Slam.

He can continue to rack up the points at weak 250s and 500s, but the facts quite clearly are that he is a long, long way away from doing any damage in a tournament that matters.

If Milos making 2 QFS in Masters events is significant improvement for you I am amazed.

Sampras thinks he will. The next five years Djokovic will do some serious winning imo. The younger generation is rubbish. Fedal are getting older and Murray is not as good as Djokovic. Del Potro is always injured. ADVANTAGE DJOKOVIC.

Well, he doesn't even have to rise for Nadal/Federer to have faced tougher youngsters than Novak will. No way are Tomic, Dimitrov, Raonic and Harrison ever coming close to the quality Djokovic has shown.

Improving as a player and being a threat in big events are two different things.

Murray and Djokovic will dominate the next 3 years at least.

+1

I actually think the Barcelona clay suits his game even more than Monte Carlo clay. It's a bit faster and even bouncier, I feel. Both suit his game perfectly to be honest, I just like how he plays in Barcelona more than in Monte Carlo. He's more aggressive and dictating more points.

Milos had a good week, this is a positive step forward he beat some good clay court players this week. He does need to continue improving on his movement he's never going to be the fastest player. And Nadal did expose Milos movement in this match especially by hitting low balls to him and pushing him to go to the net.

There is no shame losing to the seven time French Open champion. I do think Milos needs to improve somethings. First, Milos tactics became a bit predictable hit a powerful shot and come to net. The problem is, Nadal is good with his passing shots. I think Milos really needs to improve his backhand. The backhand was a huge hole in this match instead of always running around the forehand to hit shots if he improved the backhand and could hit winners off it will help him in the long run.

The volleys at times were predictable hitting into the open space, instead of trying to hit behind Nadal that's where he can improve. Nadal loves to run, but hitting the ball behind him could of helped.

The game plan was good though coming to the net and it worked when he broke Nadal to go up 2-0. It was the game when Milos had a chance to make it 3-0 where he made some mistakes on some volleys and shots that hurt him. I think Milos last shot was when he lead Nadal 3-2 and it was 30-30 and Nadal got mad about the time warning from the chair umpire. He just needs to be a bit more proficient and consistent on the big points that game was very important.

In the second set Nadal just pulled away and he figured out Milos game plan. I do believe though that this was still a positive week for Milos reaching the semifinals of a 500 ATP clay court event for the second year in the row. He defended his points. Hopefully Milos can learn from this experience. I think he got tired in the second set and playing a lot of tennis from yesterday caught up to him.
Very spot on analysis. Ignore the assclowns in this thread.

Milos has much potential and he is not just a serve bot. His game will improve as well. Canada can only be proud of Milos. No shame in losing to the greatest claycourter of all time.

I noticed this as well. He is looking trimmer by the day here in Barcelona. I thought he was a bit pudgy in Monte Carlo, especially in the final compared to Thinovic.

Too many Reeses. Very easy to gain that weight in a week, shit, in a few days, especially when you are doing nothing but resting between IW and MC.

Not so sure about Murray. He is not on Djokovic's level. That USO title remains a big * because of the wind. Look at how disappointing Murray was in the AO final this year.

What? IW final was a month and a half ago. He was already too bulky then and he gained some more weight after that final and he is losing it now. It's a process.

You don't mean statistics, you mean facts. And the facts don't support what you're saying at all. If he's winning more matches on the whole, winning more in M1000s, winning more in slams, and raising his ranking every season, he's an improving player.

He may not be improving up to your standards (you apparently think he should be on the same path as some of the greatest of all time (Federer/Nadal/Djokovic) judging by a recent post), but he's improving quite significantly nonetheless. His results and his play suggest as much. Your trolling argument has absolutely nothing to stand on.

There are only really three guys on tour with any real potential to beat one of the Big 4 in a slam (Del Potro, Berdych, and Tsonga) and they all do it very rarely indeed. The fact that Milos isn't yet among that group in his 2nd full year on tour does not mean that his game isn't improving. It just means he hasn't reached the level of those three players yet, which will be a difficult task, but one that he can absolutely manage if he keeps improving at this rate.
