Capdeville is Chilean.
Ecuador's best ranked player is Julio Cesar Campozano (#201).

Re: Davis Cup World Group Playoffs Draw

Spain should win at home on clay vs. the Ukraine.
The Dutch at home will be favorites.
British at Croatia will be good, imo. Lot of pressure on Cilic to take out Murray in the 4th rubber.
Switzerland have no excuse to lose to Educador in Swiss.
The Brazilians will be underdogs to Germany
Janowicz-Tomic in Poland will be the match of the round
Belgians can be beaten as they host Israel
Colombia at Japan is a coin flip as most have said in here. The health of Nishikori is important

Chile lost to Ecuador? lmao.

WWW Davis Cup Final: Spain versus Argentina.

Too bad this was played in Ecuador, I would have loved to see another "chair-throwing-wrestling" exhibition from the chileans.

Match of the round for me. Poles take the doubles, Janowicz and Tomic both beat Kubot and whomever plays for Australia (except if Hewitt rolls back the time). Chances for Kubot to beat Australian #2 are the same as for Au #2 to beat Janowicz. I'll say 1 point each there. Tomic-Janowicz will decide. Hmmmm hard one. If Tomic shows up, then he wins, if Tomug shows up, Janowicz takes it. Lets put hopes into Tomic and say 3-2 Australia
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. First you say you expect Jerzy to beat Aussie #2, and then you say that the chances of the Aussie #2 to beat Jerzy is the asme as Kubot to beat Aussie #2.

Are you saying you think Kubot will lose to Aussie #2 since you think Aussie #2 will lose to Jerzy?

imo Jerzy should beat Matosevic(the Aussie #2 this past weekend), but Matosevic/Kubot is much closer than Jerzy/Matosevic is. Poland 2-0 here is as likely as 1-1 imo.

I agree with pretty much everything else you said

Re: Davis Cup World Group Playoffs Draw

As always (without Australia or GB) Halle would be the best choice. But (fast) indoor hard should be enough to beat Brazil. Even without Thommy.

Maybe, although he beat him in straight sets in their only prior clay meeting at RG in 2009.

You realise he will almost certainly with both those rubbers while GB also win the doubles, right?

yes to the first part, no to the second.

marray and fleming on slow clay does not look like much of a team to me.

I'd take dodig and cilic to beat them.

Re: Davis Cup World Group Playoffs Draw

It's great we will play vs Great Britain. We will have top player to watch. I just hope it will be infront of 10-15 thousands people, newspapers need to make big spectacle and people will come.
We are in the World Group every year, so it's not end of the World if will not be there one yeart. After all that is a chance for young Borna Coric to play next year (live or dead rubber), which is away more important than to loose in quaters or first round again.
Murray should win both, Marin and Dodig should beat brits 2nd choice and than Dodig/Pavic will be favourites infront of the home crowd vs brits doubles conmbination.

That's got Croatia 3-2 written all over it. Can't see GB winning the doubles.

GB's only chance is Cilic playing doubles.

Re: Davis Cup World Group Playoffs Draw

If the Germans are clever, they'll go for grass. Indoor hard might backfire if Bellucci decides to be on, clay would be very stupid. The Brazilian #2 will lose both matches no matter what, but I think the Brazilian doubles will be favourite (maybe except on grass). Soares is having a great year and they always play very, very well together.
