Absolutely awful performance by Ivo.
Only good thing is that he hit 20 aces, nothing else. Melzer's serve is poor and he still won 82% of his 1st serve points and 77% of points on his 2nd serve!
Honestly, this was just sad to watch.

Ivo STILL lacking a ground-game. Was always interesting to see people matchup against him but at 34 I'd say he's past even his twilight lol

Karlovic getting broken by a nobody says its time to retire
love him, who doesn't, Ivo's got a great story as far as self teaching himself tennis BUT his results have been pretty awful for a while now

Re: Houston QR: G Melzer def Karlovic 6:4 7:6(3)

This was the saddest match I've seen in a while. I realy hope Ivo goes to Umag and just bows out and retires. He really just looked like he didn't care and was serving and jogging to the net.

He's had a great career for his limited abilities and just needs to hang it up.

Canada Pospisil - Dancevic - Peliwo

Crazies Dolgopolov - Fognini - Janowicz - Gulbis

Young Guns Thiem - Vesely - Coppejans

Re: Houston QR: G Melzer def Karlovic 6:4 7:6(3)

It's to see a player of the caliber of Ivo having ATP points, let alone playing ATP matches. I do know serve is a part of the game, but a club player is better than him in anything else...

Proud fan of:

Despite the loss, it was a positive performance from Karlovic. Hopefully he can build on this promising result and start winning slams again soon.
