tomic following same path as federer

if you look at the 2 players performances in grandlams for the first 5 years of their careers they are eerily similar at both wimbledon and the australian open. federers first 5 years look like this...

Australian open - Lost qualifying, 3rd round, 3rd round, 4th round, 4th round
French open - 1st round, 4th round, Quarter final, 1st round, 1st round
Wimbledon- 1st round, 1st round, quarterfinal, 1st round, Tournament win,
Us open Lost qualifying, 3rd round, 4th round, 4th round, 4th round,

and tomic first 5 look like this ....
Australian open - 2nd round, 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round, 3rd round
French open - 1st round, missed, 1st round, 2nd round, ?????????
Wimbledon- 1st round, 1st round quarterfinal 1st round ?????????
Us open - missed, lost qualifying, 2nd round, 2nd round, ?????????

so tomic should win wimbledon this year by the evidence of this trend and if tomic wins wimbledon will it be that much of a suprise i think not.

Re: tomic following same path as federer

Tomic is not tennis player.

Nadal "Sampras, Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve". arrogance.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now.

fake time-out. cheat. gamesmanship. too noisy annoying always. excuse. boycotts threatened. always dissatisfaction cry complaints. dissatisfaction to schedule. selfish two-year ranking. bump to player. ugly protest. always exaggerated appeal of self condition. etc. overrated by fanatic arrogant blind fan

Re: tomic following same path as federer

even though tomic is one of the most talented players of the current era, he won't be as successful as federer.

still, i wouldn't be surprised if tomic reaches the world number 1 someday.

This is true. Tomic is past prime and in the twilight of his career.

Re: tomic following same path as federer

Wait, how are they similar? Federer's result were better in comparison to Tomic. Also, Tomic is not the player today that Federer was all those years ago. He can't move and has horrible attitude. No. Just no.

The other day I woke up and had a cup of coffee and some toasts. I heard Agassi did that a few times, I'm sure I'm following his path.

Re: tomic following same path as federer

of course i dont really expect him to have half the career federer has had, however may i remind you federer achieved little to nothing before his slam at the age of 21 and tomic isnt 21 until after the us open, which puts things into perspective i think everyone shouldnt judge him just yet. and next year with a favourable draw he could reach the quarters at australia and wimbledon, mabye get into the worlds top 15. hes clearly the most likely out of his generation to achieve anything well at least i hope so.

Tomic still can't even do well in regular events. Federer had already shown some potential once he reached this stage.

Federer already had a Masters win and a Masters final by the time he won his first Slam. He had won 8 titles overall before Wimbledon 2003. Tomic has won 1.
