Rosol made surprisingly few winners and unforced errors in this match, Golubev the opposite.
In the tie-break, Golubev led 5-4 with the serve but lost 2 points, Rosol served for it but lost the match point 6-6, then led 7-6, Golubev serving, who lost that point : 8-6 for Rosol.
From my calculation, Rosol will reach his carreer-high ranking at 54 or better.
(I assumed that one can't cumulate the 65 points from a win in Davis cup quarterfinal with the 10 points from playing a live rubber iwthout winning in the first round, which I think I checked in previous years but I've not documented it well then I'm not 100% sure : if anybody gave me an example, I would be reassured )
I think that is wrong...Calculations show he should be around 51 with this win
Rosol has 10 DC points, which are out of his countables.
With this win he gets to 75 DC points, 10 for R1, 65 from QF.
This 75 replaces his worst result of 18 points, thus he gains 57 effective points.
Thanks, that makes sense!! I knew I had 810 as being right...So will he be at 51 or 52? If you are tied with someone, doesn't the player playing that week or reaching those points come first in the rankings?
