Miami R2: Berdych def. Gimeno-Traver 5-7 7-6(3) 6-2

Not too bad from DGT, but once Berdych won the breaker he was never losing even though he gave DGT a few chances to break.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Traver
As always pure agression, nice forehand. Interesting player
Good win for Tomas with average tennis. Must to play better in later rounds.

Shame that DGT doesn't play like this more often. Looked like a solid Top30 player for almost two sets.

Gimeno-Traver was great until mid way through the second set tiebreak, really was by far the better player until then.

Happy that Berdych upped his game in the third though. Should beat Falla/Verdasco playing like this but Raonic will destroy him if he doesn't improve soon.

Such matches show what's the main difference between good players and top guys like Berdych. Head.

Good players can have a nice day against a top guy but when it comes to crucial points towards the end of match - they melt down and the top guy suddenly starts playing at his best just when he needs it.

I have Berdych winning the tournament in the draw challenge, guess that's not happening

good signs for dgt ahead of clay season.

at a career high rank, in solid form and defending very few points in the coming months. chance to make progress.

though obviously nothing is certain with him. he could go 0-6 from here through roland garros and nobody would be too surprised
