Actually, a group more agreed with them in a "ATP Miami - Perfect Player: Serve" interview, including Raonic himself.

It's pretty unanimous.

Anyway, I saw several pros saying that Raonic had a better first serve than Isner in their opinion.

I haven't seen the video yet (can't see youtube at work) but when was it made (it has a big influence as in the beginning of 2012, Raonic was stil too recent in many people's eyes to be considered seriously enough) and was Raonic explicitly mentioned in the question or not ?

EDIT : I saw the first video, it was in january 2013 but with only 3 players.

useless old guy

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

Serve:Isner
Forehand:Isner
Backhand:Raonic(it's not that good, but isner has no backhand)
Volley:Raonic
Endurance:Isner(just bcuz of that unbelieveble match at wimbledon)
Power:Isner
Overall better player:Even tho isner score 4 and raonic 2,i think the canadian is the better player,he has the mental edge, and a more complete game.

Supporting: Every single tennis player, with a slight edge for Novak Djokovic

How things really are outside of ATP top players

I've heard many people say Isner has the best serve, and I've heard people say Raonic has the best serve.

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

Isner's serve is the only part of his game which is better than Raonic's, and that's mainly to do with his second serve which is arguably the best the game has ever seen.

Also not only is the rest of Raonic's game better he also has far bigger room for improvement.

Change that, and I agree. Raonic first serve is now better also.

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

Nothing changed. Isner clearly the better server, Raonic clearly better at basically everything else and therefore the better overall player.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

You forgot movement, but Raonic has the edge there too.

Raonic is already as good as Isner has been at any point in his career and is still getting better all the time. Milos has shown flashes of great play...he just has to get more consistent with it. He'll reach heights that Isner never has and never will.
A year later, I'd probably give Milos the edge over Isner on BH and endurance now. I've changed my mind, though, on serve. Isner takes that category for me after watching his ridiculous display in Cinci first hand last year.

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

Serve: Tough, Raonic has a better first serve, Isner has a better second serve. Isner follows up on his serve better.
Forehand: Raonic
Backhand: Undecided
Volley: Raonic
Endurance: Undecided
Power: Raonic
Overall better player: Isner has had the better career *in general* so far, but Raonic is much younger and has potential for improvement - and also has 500 titles unlike Isner. So probably Raonic

Nadal • Federer • Dimitrov • Wawrinka

Ferrer • Murray • del Potro • Tsonga • Raonic • Haas • Kohlschreiber • Verdasco • Monfils

Overall better player: Raonic

He'll have a much more accomplished career once he gets to isner's age.

Milos Raonic! Vasek Pospisil! Genie Bouchard! Celine Dion!!

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

1st Serve:Raonic
2nd Serve: Isner
Forehand: Raonic by a hair
Backhand:Raonic(not good but getting better, plus he wins this by default as Isner has no BH generally)
Volley:Raonic
Endurance: Toss-up (Isner has the rep after the Mahut match, yet I've actually seen many matches where he physically wilts. Raonic tends to wilt in BO5 matches as well)
Power: Toss-up. Not sure in 2014 who does, Raonic seems to be growing into his power, plus players peak power is often in later 20's so I'd guess Raonic has a higher power ceiling.

Movement & Footwork:
Raonic.
Overall better player: Raonic, more complete, higher potential, better mental make it pretty easy.

Re: John Isner / Milos Raonic

Their first serve is close, but IMO Raonic has a definite edge. More pace and better placement, Isner has more variety of spins. John also clearly has a better second serve. Raonic moves better (not saying much) and has a slightly better backhand.
