A different kind of ranking (perhaps more realistic)

Very interesting how it turns out.

http://tennisabstract.com/jrank/atp.html

JRank is a ranking system for professional tennis that better predicts match outcomes than ATP or WTA rankings. It awards points based on opponents beaten and the recency of each match rather than tournament type and round. For more on the system.

More details.

Glad to see that either way Nole is almost 4.000 points ahead of the second, wow! That's a very considerable lead, if that's not dominating i don't know what is is...

Lol that's terrible. Who earth thinks that the overrated servebot is the 8th best player in the world? Better than Tsonga?

Just no.

Re: A different kind of ranking (perhaps more realistic)

Djokovic 2300 points clear on the clay rankings with 0 clay titles compared to the guy with 1 slam, 2 masters 1000, 2 500 and 1 250 title.

Seems about right

Djokovic doesn't have 0 clay titles. It is obvious this ranking looks at more than the last 12 months, otherwise Nadal would not be 4th on hard. But still I agree with you it is strange Djokovic is ahead on clay. I see no sensible algorithm allowing for this result. Of half-witted ones.....

LOL Serena Williams has 33000 points, she has more points than the 5 next to her combined.

How conveniently you forget Novak has at least 6 clay titles (as far as I can remember).
But the rest of the post is accurate.

Simple, in JRank system results loose value over time. Nadal has just started to accumulate new points.

I agree it's more realistic, but not totally realistic though.

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost
