Hey, for information this critical, we expect a fully redundant computer system ... maybe the ATP can include that in next year's budget

Joke aside, ATP seem interested of my work here (but are fairly slow at giving details), so who knows... maybe in the future, they can have a piece of it.

Also joke aside, boss was not entirely happy that the power source blew out. I'm gonna have to explain why and how now.

Re: The Live ATP Rankings Thread

A new safety feature has been inserted into the updates to prevent freezes, and also speed of update has been increased. The live updates will now be run hourly, instead of once at 2 hours.

OP updated:
Live Rankings Update Schedule:
Once every hour. The update starts at the second minute of the hour and usually finishes between the sixth and the tenth minute.

Live Rankings Week Change Schedule:
On an official rankings Monday, the live rankings will show the official rankings until around midday. The last regular update for Monday is scheduled at 10 AM London Time.
The week change procedure starts at 10:30 AM London Time and lasts around 2 hours. The first new week update is scheduled at either 12:30 PM London Time or 1 PM London Time.
Take note. If Monday finals are played for Grand Slam level, ATP level or Challenger level tournaments, the update is delayed until all finals are finished.
If Monday finals are played for Futures level tournaments, the update is delayed by 2 hours (12 - 12:30 PM London Time start of procedure, 2-3 PM London Time first update).
In both above cases, between 10:30 AM London Time and the time of the start of the week change procedures, updates of the rankings will be performed hourly.

A fallback method is currently being researched, to prevent long time lapses of the update system.

No, he is not.

Monfils withdrew from Munich, Berankis took his place as a LL.

How many points will won Mathieu if he lose in second round of Madrid?

No player with a Bye in the first round, no matter what he is, seed, qualifier or lucky loser EVER gets second round points. Only first round or third round points, depending on the result of his first match.

Nightcrawl3r is correct about the amount of points Mathieu would get with a loss in his first match.

Re: The Live ATP Rankings Thread

A new addition to the live rankings.

I am pleased to introduce the all new "Live Rankings per year born". Now you can follow the live rankings of the players born in a specific year. The range chosen for the rankings is 1980-1999. For each of these years you can see the live rankings of players born during that year. There are also two marginal groups for players born in 2000 and later, and respectively for players born in 1979 and before. The links for these rankings are:

LIVE RANKINGS AND RACE FOR PLAYERS BORN IN AND BEFORE 1979
LIVE RANKINGS AND RACE FOR PLAYERS BORN IN 1980
LIVE RANKINGS AND RACE FOR PLAYERS BORN IN 1981
LIVE RANKINGS AND RACE FOR PLAYERS BORN IN 1982

Re: The Live ATP Rankings Thread

Personal note -- while I am happy for Thiem for this big win, I am kind of disappointed for Stan for not getting more points to widen his lead in the Race, as the draw opened good for him and without Djokovic or Federer (the closest to him in the Race) it probably his best opportunity to make a good lead from them.
