WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

EDITED TO ADD FULL DRAW:

Draw being done right now. Full draw to be posted later but for now - Nadal & Almagro in one half; Wawrinka/Ferrer in another.

Potential Semifinals: Ferrer v Wawrinka; Nadal v Almagro

Nadal's Route
R1: Qualifier
R2: Qualifier/Daniel Garza (MEX)
QF: Bellucci
SF: Almagro
F: Wawrinka/Ferrer

Lucky to get qualifiers the first two rounds - with floaters like Nalbandian around... Have to go with Ferrer for the title here. Nadal doesn't look ready to beat him yet IMO.

Interesting R1s: Wawrinka v Fognini; Bellucci v Kuznetsov (I could see Bellucci losing this);

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

Yeah I would say Ferrer for the title. Looking more solid than Nadal though a title may change that.

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

This will be a good test tournament for Nadal. Would love to see a Nadal/Ferrer final. This will be an indication of how well his clay season will be

Nadal is really trying hard to get that #4 ranking back haha

The full draw's not been posted yet. Have taken the information from a Mexican journalist's tweets who is at the ceremony (https://twitter.com/JuaniCeballos). Will update when it's all out.

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

Almagro, Ferrer, and Wawrinka definitely can beat Nadal, they're in a better shape ATM. But Almagro will probably waste tons of MPs and beating Rafa in the final is probably too much for Stan. But Ferrer has beaten Rafa already previously and this time he's too good to lose. So Pics for the title.

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

Easy draw for Rafa at the beginning, the mexican journalist that mentioned Ash86 said that Nadal will play against a qualifier on 1st round and, if he wins, he will meet another qualifier or a WC in the 2nd round

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

Nadal-Ferrer F i think anything else would be big surprise and well i would say Ferrer has by far biggest chance to beat Rafa on clay in years. Rafa´s confidence and level are arguably on lowest in years, so if Ferrer can´t take him down in Acapulco, he won´t do at European clay events for sure

Re: WWW ATP 500: Acapulco

Almagro reaching SF would be a miracle already. All the hype around Ferrer is pathetic. The only threat to Nadal is Bellucci, just because he is not used to play him on clay.
