Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

I read an article where the second greatest player of all time behind Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, said he was unsure if he would be able to compete with these guys. I think he's being humble.

No doubt Agassi would be number 1.

Is this even up to debate?

Well, pretty much any top 10 in the 90s would be number one today.

Re: Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

The only player that could be #1 today is....

Novak Djokovic himself....oh wait, he is #1

I think Agassi would be like a Murray in today's game except possibly better because of his somewhat strong mental game.
So, id say him and current Djoker would be equal

Then again, it would be a 4-way 1st place tie between
Prime Djoker, Fed, Nadal, and Agassi
They're all great defensive players so really it's a toss up. I think they would rotate titles with Fed winning the most because he's the most versatile then Djokovic and Nadal would be undisputed clay king still

Re: Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

Andre was one of the best returners in the history of the game. In fact, after Djokovic, he's the second best returner of all time. He would have been great in today's era and on these surfaces minus French Open.

A lot of you guys really undermine Murray's skill-set. His game is on par with Djokovic right now he just alway loses out on the mental edge that he lacks like Rafa, Nole, and Fed

Prime Agassi would be N2 behind Djokovic today. The current conditions benefit Djokovic a bit more.

Re: Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

Agassi would be better of than prime Sampras with these raquets, that is for sure.

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Re: Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

Agassi has the best return ever. He is also probably the cleanest ball-striker.

His only flaw was his defence and maybe his net game.

Re: Prime Agassi would be No.1 today.

Agassi had to deal with fast surfaces, which benefitted the server, so i class Agassi as the greatest returner of all time.

I'd like to see Prime Agassi in todays game. I think he'd do well
