San Jose QF: (3) Querrey def Falla 6-3 4-6 7-5 (MP saved)

MP was saved with an ace, but Falla still had no business losing, the way he broke himself after multiple game points the next game was incredible. Add it to the long list of matches that should have gone the other way this year

Oh dear FaIla

World #1.
.

Some people mistake the Distant Sun for an eternally raging fireball calling for your demise. Just like aliens from outer space. Aliens from other planets. Aliens in galaxies too far away from your own comprehension. Your demise is ultimately irrelevant and meaningless.

Do not question our motives, our objectives, or our qualities. Question your own place in the universe.

Querrey hit his fastest serve of the match to save his MP. No one was returning that.

It is tough to say the match "should have gone the other way".

It could have gone either way, but to say Falla should have won is flat out wrong.

Wasn't really a choke from Falla. That MP was a straight-out unreturnable, then Sam raised his game and finished it off. Too good. Bad luck for Falla is all.

Hard luck Falla. Another bullet dodged by Querrey.

The 5-5 game was more the choking part.

You have to be ahead to choke, not tied

He did have multiple game points for 6-5. But I do think this was a pretty minor choke, just every one is irritating in a year already incredibly full of them

Querrey is quite a vulture too. Only rise for ATP 250s on US soil to feed on the carrions of a decrepit field...

Sam's been struggling too much recently. However he always sucks at this time of the season.
