yes, you are and a BIG ONE, you should be proud of yourself ... how is your twinbro Sap doing ?

anyway, cheering for Milos (just because he is Canadian ) and Haas. Kinda hoping Haas will win this ... not a great field tho, but whatever.

There are so many 250s with much better fields than this.

I wouldn't go that far, anyhow, this tourney will be a 250 next year, so you can rest easy.

From the ATP website:
Beginning with Bjorn Borg's triumph in 1977, Memphis has counted nine year-end ATP World Tour No. 1s among its winners - including Americans Jimmy Connors, Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick.

So you see, it wasn't always this way.

Re: WWW Memphis 500

any tournament where Mugic is main seed is automatically crap.

Buenos Aires next week 250 draw is at least as strong/weak as Memphis (Ferrer, Almagro, Wawrinka, Nalbandian)

So basically back when US tennis was good, it was good.

I'll counter that by saying that San Jose should have never been downgraded to a 250(wasn't it a 500 at one point?). If it was never a 500, I could use that same argument by saying players such as Budge, Laver, Emerson, Johnny Mac, Jimmy, Andre, Pete and Andy have all won San Jose multiple times. It's the 2nd oldest tournament in the States, behind the U.S. Open. If we're gonna go off history, San Jose should be a 500. Oh wait, I forgot that the ATP are a bunch of greedy bastards and approved the sale of Memphis to a Brazilian group, moved it down there and then moved San Jose to Memphis.

Re: WWW Memphis 500

since everything has gone wrong these days, Cilic will win and bump Richie out of top 10...

and you're the first say that there is a real difference between 500 and 250. Like 500 are "almost" M1000 and 250 are nothing next to them. 3/4 of 500 have 250-field with average to poor quality winners like Simon or Melzer.
Dubai is not the rule, it's an exception. Hamburg, Memphis, Acapulco, Wasinghton ; all of them have terrible field most of the time.
Winning 500 does not automatically means "i'm better than the guy who didn't" if you know what i mean.

Re: WWW Memphis 500

I´m so happy this is last time Memphis is infiltrating ranking with easy 500 points, it looks like San Jose with little better field and i expect SF players from SAn Jose to go deep also in Memphis with most likely someone from Raonic,Isner,Querrey serve their way to title - but neither of them is looking good. Last few years really 500 easy points that was Memphis - Melzer last year, without his Memphis points he will fall many places, 2011 Roddick won Memphis and haven´t done nothing after that for at least 1 year.
