Rotterdam R2: Klizan def. Sijsling 6-2 6-4

Pretty disappointing match, Klizan wasn't as dominating as you would expect from the scoreline, Sijsling simply wasn't even close to his level of the first round. In general it was a low quality match, mixed with some good rallies when you least expected it.

Simon will be a good test to see if Klizan has officially beaten his slump.

Great result. Would be great if Klizan beat Simon tomorrow to at least reach the semis against Federer here.

Sijsling very inconsistent and mugging on breakpoints, Klizan clowning around with all those silly dropshots...awful match.

Re: Rotterdam R2: Klizan def. Sijsling 6-2 6-4

Very solid by Klizan overall. He was serving well, when he needed to, 7/7 against the BPs is great stuff. Klizan was very focused and positive on the court and that´s the reason he took almost all of the big points. Second set was tough, Sijsling had his chances there. Simon will be clear favorite though, but there is already a significant improvement by Martin. 90 points are appreciated as well.

Re: Rotterdam R2: Klizan def. Sijsling 6-2 6-4

Only watched the first set as we went out to watch a pretty good doubles match thereafter.

Disappointing performance from Sijsling, quite a let-down after his brilliant job against Tsonga. Just too erratic, whereas Klizan kept his cool, did his job, and did it adequately and solidly. Deserved win for Klizan.

Quite a wasted chance for Sijsling but I guess the guy is still over the moon because of his victory against Tsonga. Well, it may remain the highlight of his tennis resume, but somehow I still think there's more in store for him.

Sijsling was as flat as a pancake and Klizan, more or less, was solid enough.

How much more do you think he has in him? I have the feeling he is peaking right now and will max out in the 50-60 region at best, which is fine.

I'm just happy to see a countryman absolutely fulfilling his potential instead of watching Haase and De Bakker clown around.

Only time will/may tell, according to his coach Mr. Munoz, he might have some more to offer, but I think he'd be very happy indeed to reach that 50-60 region in the upcoming couple of weeks/months. It's his goal so I understood, too bad he didn't make the most of the opportunity offered to him this evening, but still nothing can take away a victory over Tsonga on his resume.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Talking about clowning around, did you watch the doubles match De Bakker/Huta Galung against Gasquet/Benneteau, this evening?

Haase is a lost case, unfortunately.
